Running Hare Vineyard
Pinot Grigio, winner of the Maryland
Governor's Cup - Silver Award 2008. Aged in French
oak, this wine feels soft on the palate with nice melon
and grapefruit flavors. Easily comparable with top
Italian producers, but this one is actually grown and produced in
Prince Frederick, MD.
Try it - you like it.

Imperial Vodka
This Vodka is very similar to “Russian Standard” and is
produced by the same company using the same strict quality control and
ingredients.
Both
use the softest glacier lakes water, which is not chemically treated,
but multi-filtered through 5-micron filters, which retains water’s
natural softness.
Imperial
Vodka has extra filtration of the blend through silver-impregnated
granules, which makes its taste smoother and velvety.

wonderful dusty dark berried fruit.

Chaucer's Mead
Take
a step back in time and enjoy the flavors of this popular Medieval
Elixir. This Mead is made with similar recipes used in Medieval Times.
This wine is produced utilizing fresh honey without the addition of
artificial flavorings, concentrates or artificial colorings. The use of

natural product. The Mead can be enjoyed in one of two ways, either
chilled or heated with spices to create a delicious wintry drink. |

Brora
1981
A December
1981 distillation, bottled
in May 2006
from a sherry cask
(#656). Limited to 255 bottles. Not the peatiest of Brora and more of
a fruit bomb, but excellent nonetheless. A silver medal too in the Malt
Maniacs Awards 2006 |

Cherry
On Top
Enjoy a glass of this delicious sweet wine. Made
for red wine lovers who like it sweet. Made of Syrah, Zinfandel,
Merlot, Tempranillo and Grenache. It is full of rich fruits. Today's in-store
tasting wine is Cherry on Top Red. It's a lightly sweet (really
almost more of an "off dry" than a "sweet", about the sweetness of a
kabinett Riesling, maybe even a wee bit dryer) California red
blend. If you like Totally Random Red or Brix, you'll really like
this one. If you like Cupcake Red Velvet or Menage a Trois, but
would like to experiment with something a tad sweeter or like Riunite
Lambrusco and would like to try something a tad dryer, it's definitely
worth a try. Feel free to stop by The Vineyard for a free sample. |

Marilyn
Monroe
Wine enthusiasts
with a sense of humor have long enjoyed the playful
spirit behind Marilyn Merlot wines,
which today are equally prized by
wine connoisseurs, collectors, and fans of Marilyn Monroe.
Since 1985, each
distinctive vintage of Marilyn
Merlot
has featured a unique label based on a photograph of Marilyn Monroe and
designed by Susann Ortega of Ortega Design Studio.
Each new vintage
is released on Marilyn Monroe's
birthday, June 1st, and sells out quickly. Collectors have made Marilyn
Merlot one of the fastest-appreciating wines on the market, as
twelve-bottle sets of the 1985 through 1996 vintages continue to grow
in value and are now selling for $7,000.
While the
concept and engaging artwork of these
wines
has given them a degree of fame, it is the wine in the bottle that
merits the favor of those who seek it every year. All vintages carry
the Napa Valley appellation (except for the 1987 vintage, which was
imported from France). The wines are made at the Cult Wine Central in
Oakville, California. Some of Napa Valley's finest vineyards contribute
to the blend, which is typically about 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet
Franc.
Marilyn Merlot
wines consistently win praise from
critics and lovers of stylish and delicious Merlot.
Did
you know that had
you purchased the past 12 vintages of the Marilyn
Monroe collection for between $15-33/each bottle it would have today a
collector's value in excess of $7500? |
Norma Jeane
Norma wines reflect the freshness and youthful
charm of the young Marilyn Monroe. These are wines full of vibrant
fruit flavors that are meant to be enjoyed soon after they are released.
Since the first vintage in 1998, each Norma Merlot
has been produced from grapes grown in the Tallerico Vineyard in French
Camp, California. A little Syrah is blended with typically 80 percent
or more Merlot, giving an abundance of fruit flavor and luminous color
to each vintage.
Each vintage of Norma
Merlot features a photograph
taken of the young actress in the years just before she captured the
imagination of the American public as Marilyn Monroe. Designer Susann
Ortega creates each label in the vintage series to reflect the
unabashed appeal that will always be Norma .
Like Marilyn Merlot, Marilyn Cabernet, and the
newly-released Velvet Collection, Norma wines have captured the
imagination of collectors and as well as those who simply enjoy the
exuberance of young and delicious Merlot.
Norma is becoming highly collectable. The first vintage, 1998, is
being sold for over $150 per bottle. It's distributed in most states,
so you can ask your local retailer to get it for you.

From
The Orkney Brewery
– This powerful ale is
named after Thorfinn Hausakluif, the 7th Viking Earl of Orkney – who
lived and ruled around 950 AD. Although he lived and loved and fought
amidst a violent way of life, he was sufficiently adept at surviving
the perils of his precarious existence and died in his bed leaving five
strong sons to meet a premature and not so peaceful end!
Orkney Brewing – Skull Splitter Poured into a 12
oz beer glass. 8.5% ABV.

is a unique and versatile drink indeed.
In Europe, for generations, Asbach Uralt Brandy has been savored and

SPRINGBANK
- 21-year old
Springbank, built
around 1828 on the site of Archibald Mitchell’s illicit still
produces a most distinguished whisky, described as 'Premier Grand Cru
Classé' by the London Sunday Times following a tasting in 1983.
It is one of the most traditional distilleries still in operation. One
of the last remaining independent family-owned and run distilleries,
the original buildings are still being used and
they operate their own malting floor (using organic barley). Even
boatskin larch washbacks are still used daily and they still cut their
own peat. The unique wash still is heated directly by oil-fired steam
coils and they still employ an old fashioned copper 'rummager' to
prevent solids scorching in the base of the still. Springbank operates
3 stills and distill their spirit 3 times (or maybe 2 ½ times as
only the feints of the first distillation are distilled once more).
This, Springbank claims, makes the final product milder
This 21 year-old whisky is
one of Springbank’s flagship’s, next to the 25-year old.
The nose is big and rich
with a uniquely balanced mixture of sherry, peat and salt. No other
whisky has quite the same meld of extreme elements: Springbank manages
to intermingle the fruity/sherry sweetness, with a toasty, malty
dryness, and a salty, seaweedy crispness. Only 2400 bottles produced
world-wide.
