PENDERYN WELSH WHISKY

Like Welsh Gold Penderyn Single Malt Welsh Whisky is a rare and precious commodity.

This golden malt whisky signals the welcome return of whisky distillation to Wales  after an absence of over 100 years.

Running Hare Vineyard
Pinot Grigio, winner of the Maryland Governor's Cup - Silver Award 2008.   Aged in French oak, this wine feels soft on the palate with nice melon and grapefruit flavors. Easily comparable with top Italian producers, but this one is actually grown and produced in Prince Frederick, MD.

Try it - you like it.

Imperial Vodka

This Vodka is very similar to “Russian Standard” and is produced by the same company using the same strict quality control and ingredients.

Both use the softest glacier lakes water, which is not chemically treated, but multi-filtered through 5-micron filters, which retains water’s natural softness.

Imperial Vodka has extra filtration of the blend through silver-impregnated granules, which makes its taste smoother and velvety.

This is an agressive beer. You probably won't like it. It is quite doubtful that you have the taste or sophistication to be able to appreciate an ale of this quality and depth. This is a strong hoppy beer with a kick you won't forget. Great by itself or with pasta or red meat dishes.

Regalia Vodka

Clear. Faint spicy notes of rosemary, coriander, and mint on the nose. A very supple and round entry leads to a smooth, off-dry medium-full body with sweet cream, delicate herbs, and spices, and long sweet frosting and mineral fade. This will go brilliantly with seafood and caviar.

1965 Tomatin, 37-year-old, Duncan Taylor Single Malt Whisky

This is one of the most outstanding single malts that we have available. To be 37 years old and have so much life is very, very rare. Has a rich, med. amber color. The nose is fruity with sherry and carmel notes. On the palate it has a nice nuttiness and only lightly peated. Very warm and spicy on the finish. This would make a beautiful gift for anyone celebrating their 40th Birthday or Anniversary! Cask #20945 52.7% ABV. Only 181 bottles produced.

Glenmorangie - Elegance

Glenmorangie Elegance is a 21-Year Old malt whiskey, one of the oldest malts to be released from the Glenmorangie Distillery. It has a complex mixture of smoke, sandalwood and mulled wine underlined with traces of oranges, nuts, and marzipan. Available only in this package, the unique decanter is hand-blown by Scotland's leading glassmakers, Caithness Glass in Wick, to replicate Glenmorangie's famous swan-necked pot stills at its distillery.

         Soju
Chum-Churum
Silver medal winner (Best in Class) at the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC). Chum-Churum is a potato based Soju. At only 20% ABV this beverage is very smooth and enjoyable to drink.

Ultimat(e) Vodka

is a truly a decade ultra-premium vodka product in its handsome Polish hand-blown cobalt blue and clear heavy crystal bottle with a crystal and cork stopper. Ultimat is dedicated to creating a very high quality product beginning with the bottle, which takes craftsmen 24 hours to create each unique hand-blown bottle, which are actually two bottles in one, and have a small bubble on the bottom of each bottle, and continues with the Master Distiller in Poland crafting outstanding vodka from a blend of potato, wheat and rye, whereas most vodkas are either made from potatoes or grain. Try it chilled and neat; smooth richness, with a pleasant, subtle clean aftertaste.

GOLDENBARR CHOCOLATE VODKA Imported from Ukraine, where the centuries old tradition of vodka distillation is legendary, Goldenbärr is one of the finest vodkas produced anywhere in the world. Hand crafted by expert distillers using ancient traditions and customs, it is the worlds first genuine Chocolate Vodka.
Kübler Absinthe
In keeping with the local tradition of clandestine La Bleue, Kübler 53 is crystal clear, has no added sugar and is finished at 53% alcohol. It is very aromatic and has a deep white louche, which, in contrast to its French counterparts in Pontarlier, is brought on by a judicious use of star-anise in the formula. This absinthe is already the best-seller in Switzerland and is getting much international attention and praise. We believe that this original Swiss version of Kübler deserves our attention and its place in our offerings as a fine representation of a high-quality, commercially distilled absinthe with a 'clandestine' spirit.

Duncan Taylor
21 Year-old Linlithgow

Linlithgow Distillery was established between the 1790's to early 1800's. The Distillery known as ‘Linlithgow’ or "St Magdalene" was operated at one time by Adam Dawson one of the first recorded licensed distillers. Tasting Notes: Color: Amber with gold highlights. Nose: Vanilla and fruits mingling. Flavor: Lemon grass & honey. Finish: Crisp, dry and long. Hint of oak smoke. Distilled October 1982 and bottled November 2003, Cask #2211, 63% ABV

Scorpion Mezcal
Worms are for wimps
These single-barrel mezcals allow consumers to fully appreciate the true flavorful and aromatic expression of fine100% agave spirits. Distilled in a small artisanal palenque, these mezcals exhibit the same complex subtleties as a cognac, and are far superior to bulk-made tequilas. As a distinguishing feature, all varieties of SCORPION MEZCAL come with a real scorpion in the bottle.
Bushmills 1608

Michael Jackson

Nose
Distinct rose-like aroma of Bushmills. Sandalwood.

Palate
Syrupy, sherryish. Nutty. Almondy.
Finish
Hard liquorice. Late rootiness.
Comment
Very rich and sweet, but still a Bushmills.

Vampire
not just for Halloween.
Hallmark characteristics of the Cabernet variety, notes of rich dark fruit flavors and yet light, not too dry, with complex oak structure. Notes of bell peppers tones complete the finish. Vampire Cabernet is a well made, modern example of the "king" of red wines, with fine tannins and a mixture of 70% French and 30% American oak. Keep away from direct sunlight!
Keep away from direct sunlight.

Duncan Taylor

Vampire
Vodka

As night fell upon the city they were drawn to pubs in search of a way to quench their unyielding thirst. In order to protect their patrons, these pubs sought ways to satisfy the needs of these nocturnal creatures. Only the finest spirits would work to please the palate of their distinguished guests. Vampire Vodka became the choice among these unearthly travelers.

This wickedly smooth drink is the first red vodka in the United States. Triple distilled in England by one of the world's leading distillers of vodka and gin.

GRAND MARNIER SPECIAL CUVEES

CUVEE DU CENTENAIRE (1827-1927)

The manufacturing process of Grand Marnier Special Cuvee is the same as Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge, but, the cognac base allows production of better qualities using only selected and aged cognacs.

This special blend is made from old and selected fine cognacs mainly from Grande Champagne and Petite Champagne aged up to 25 years.

Cuvée du Centenaire was first produced to commemorate the centennial (1827-1927) of the House of MARNIER-LAPOSTOLLE. Although made in the same way as Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge, the use of older and finer cognacs in this special Cuvée gives the liqueur a smoother finish and a unique flavor.

Cuvée du Centenaire was awarded a Gold Medal at the 1983 International Wine & Spirit Competition in London.

SIGNATORY
Brora 1981
A December 1981 distillation, bottled in May 2006 from a sherry cask (#656). Limited to 255 bottles. Not the peatiest of Brora and more of a fruit bomb, but excellent nonetheless. A silver medal too in the Malt Maniacs Awards 2006

"WHISKY" magazine  notes:

Nose
A walk across the grassy dunes to a clean beech in a light, fresh breeze.
Palate
Teasing balance of sweet, creamy maltiness and salty, savoury, vegetal flavours. After the walk, warming soup.
Finish
Peppery dry. Bring on the cullen skink.
Comment
What a distinctive malt Brora was, and there are some excellent bottlings available.

    Marilyn Monroe

Wine enthusiasts with a sense of humor have long enjoyed the playful spirit behind Marilyn
Merlot wines, which today are equally prized by wine connoisseurs, collectors, and fans of Marilyn Monroe.

Since 1985, each distinctive vintage of Marilyn Merlot has featured a unique label based on a photograph of Marilyn Monroe and designed by Susann Ortega of Ortega Design Studio.

Each new vintage is released on Marilyn Monroe's birthday, June 1st, and sells out quickly. Collectors have made Marilyn Merlot one of the fastest-appreciating wines on the market, as twelve-bottle sets of the 1985 through 1996 vintages continue to grow in value and are now selling for $7,000.

While the concept and engaging artwork of these wines has given them a degree of fame, it is the wine in the bottle that merits the favor of those who seek it every year. All vintages carry the Napa Valley appellation (except for the 1987 vintage, which was imported from France). The wines are made at the Cult Wine Central in Oakville, California. Some of Napa Valley's finest vineyards contribute to the blend, which is typically about 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.

Marilyn Merlot wines consistently win praise from critics and lovers of stylish and delicious Merlot.

Norma Jeane

Norma wines reflect the freshness and youthful charm of the young Marilyn Monroe. These are wines full of vibrant fruit flavors that are meant to be enjoyed soon after they are released.

Since the first vintage in 1998, each Norma Merlot has been produced from grapes grown in the Tallerico Vineyard in French Camp, California. A little Syrah is blended with typically 80 percent or more Merlot, giving an abundance of fruit flavor and luminous color to each vintage.

Each vintage of Norma Merlot features a photograph taken of the young actress in the years just before she captured the imagination of the American public as Marilyn Monroe. Designer Susann Ortega creates each label in the vintage series to reflect the unabashed appeal that will always be Norma .

Like Marilyn Merlot, Marilyn Cabernet, and the newly-released Velvet Collection, Norma wines have captured the imagination of collectors and as well as those who simply enjoy the exuberance of young and delicious Merlot.

Norma is becoming highly collectable. The first vintage, 1998, is being sold for over $150 per bottle. It's distributed in most states, so you can ask your local retailer to get it for you.

Did you know that had you purchased the past 12 vintages of the Marilyn Monroe collection for between $15-33/each bottle it would have today a collector's value in excess of $7500?

From The Orkney Brewery
This powerful ale is named after Thorfinn Hausakluif, the 7th Viking Earl of Orkney – who lived and ruled around 950 AD. Although he lived and loved and fought amidst a violent way of life, he was sufficiently adept at surviving the perils of his precarious existence and died in his bed leaving five strong sons to meet a premature and not so peaceful end!

Orkney Brewing – Skull Splitter Poured into a 12 oz beer glass. 8.5% ABV.

Strongest Beer?

Bavarian brewer Harald Schneider claims he has concocted the world's strongest beer. It's 50.8 proof (25.4% alcohol) and is served in a shot glass. Schneider says it tastes like a quirky mixture of beer and sherry.

We don't have Harald's beer in our store, but you can chose from over 200 different beers, including beers from Austria, Australia, Italy, Belgium, Vietnam, China, Thailand, Spain, England, Scotland, South America and Germany. Of course, there are dozens of  American specialty brews as well.

The bottle is held in a handmade, collectible level quality curly maple wood box.
Asbach Uralt

You might feel that Asbach Uralt, "The Great Brandy from the Rhine," is too distinctive a brandy to be enjoyed any other way than in a snifter. But when you have tried Asbach Uralt in a coctail you will agree with famous bartenders that it is a unique and versatile drink indeed.

In Europe, for generations, Asbach Uralt Brandy has been savored and appreciated by connoisseurs of fine brandies.

LANDY DESIRE

Both glamorous and modern, this cognac has extra smooth aromas. The flavors are rich and complex, from vanilla to prune.

SPRINGBANK - 21-year old
Springbank, built around 1828 on the site of Archibald Mitchell’s illicit still  produces a most distinguished whisky, described as 'Premier Grand Cru Classé' by the London Sunday Times following a tasting in 1983. It is one of the most traditional distilleries still in operation. One of the last remaining independent family-owned and run distilleries, the original buildings are still being used and they operate their own malting floor (using organic barley). Even boatskin larch washbacks are still used daily and they still cut their own peat. The unique wash still is heated directly by oil-fired steam coils and they still employ an old fashioned copper 'rummager' to prevent solids scorching in the base of the still. Springbank operates 3 stills and distill their spirit 3 times (or maybe 2 ½ times as only the feints of the first distillation are distilled once more). This, Springbank claims, makes the final product milder

This 21 year-old whisky is one of  Springbank’s flagship’s, next to the 25-year old.

The nose is big and rich with a uniquely balanced mixture of sherry, peat and salt. No other whisky has quite the same meld of extreme elements: Springbank manages to intermingle the fruity/sherry sweetness, with a toasty, malty dryness, and a salty, seaweedy crispness. Only 2400 bottles produced world-wide.
Crown Royal - XR
Extremely Smooth

Exclusively Available
The whiskies at  the heart of Crown Royal XR are the sole survivors of the Waterloo distillery, an enduring symbol of special whiskies were saved prior to the closing of this longtime Crown Royal distillery before a devastating fire destroyed everything at the site. Men are like fine wine.
